Our History
Brothers Mike and Frank Cunningham embarked on their flooring journey here in Flagstaff, Arizona in 1972. They began with the establishment of Ed and Frank’s Carpet Barn, with both Frank and his colleague Ed personally handling carpet installations. As the business flourished, they moved to a larger location on 7th Ave, which they named Cunningham Interiors. Alongside, they opened another location on Lakin Drive, where our showroom is located today.
In 1995, a new chapter unfolded as Mike and his wife Heather assumed ownership and rebranded the store on Lakin Drive as Carpets of Dalton Flooring America, reflecting their co-op partnership with Flooring America. In 2017, they transformed the business into Cunningham Flooring Direct, as their store shifted its focus on providing high quality products while collaborating with local flooring installers.
Our Future
Our store has undergone transformations in both location and name, but our dedication to serving the Flagstaff community for the past 50 years has remained unwavering. In 2023, Pam Barmore, a seasoned interior designer and longtime manager of our showroom, has stepped into the role of store owner. Under her guidance, Barmore Flooring and Design will infuse new energy and inspired designs into our showroom.
